Q: What materials can be laser-cut?

We can laser cut a wide range of materials, including acrylic, aluminum, balsa wood, basswood, cardboard, chipboard, Corian, Delrin, fiberglass, laminate, latex, Masonite, Melamine, matte boards, MDF, museum boards, metals, polyurethane foam, fabric runners, Polyester Mylar, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyurethane, paper, rubber, Silicone, stainless steel, steel, Teflon, 3Form, wood, and many others. You can supply your materials or use our stock inventory.

Q: What are size and thickness limitations?

Cut tables: 96″ x 48″

  • up to 1″ thick in acrylic and wood and some non-metallic materials
  • up to 1/4″ thick in aluminum
  • up to 3/8″ thick in steel

Engrave tables: 39″ x 24″

  • engrave up to 9″ thick
  • cut up to 3/8″ thick plastics

Q: What file formats are acceptable?

We accept any vector format, such as .AI, .DWG, .DXF, .EPS, .CDR, or .SVG. Large files can be sent as .zip via email.

Q: Can Laser Alliance LLC do the computer programming?

Our professional staff can provide computer programming, digitizing, or scanning using your sketches, drawings, blueprints, or camera-ready artworks. There are additional charges for computer programming.

Q: Does Laser Alliance LLC offer vinyl cutting?

Yes! We can cut, weed and mask vinyls so the graphics can be easily applied to clean and smooth surfaces.

Q: What type of materials can be laser-etched or engraved?

Metals such as bare aluminum, anodized aluminum, brass, steel, and stainless steel can be etched or marked with our CO2 laser. There is no depth when etched or marked with CO2 laser. The graphics will appear as black it’s bare metals.

In case of anodized metals, laser will remove the anodized coating and the underlined metals will be exposed and visible. The color of anodized coating will be the background color.

Most non-metallic materials such as acrylic, Corian, marble, granite and wood can be laser-etched or engraved.

Regular plate glass and tempered glass can be engraved. Glass engraving with a CO2 laser produces a beautiful frosted effects. The engraving depth can be specified accordingly.

Q: How much does it cost?

We offer custom laser cutting and engraving services, each project will have different specifications such as material, thickness, size and completion time. We will provide a price quote after reviewing your design drawings, CAD files, or vector graphics files. You may send these files to us via Quote Request link or email.

Q: What types of payment are accepted?

We accept Master Card and Visa. California company checks and certified checks are also welcome.

Q. Do we cut tubes?

No. We cut flat sheets only.

Q. What is laser beam width (kerf)?

Our laser beam kerf is approximately 0.008″ (about 0.20 mm). Drawings can be adjusted to compensate for the kerf.

Thicker materials will require additional adjustments to compensate for beam kerf if needed.

Q. Do you provide quote over the phone?

We offer custom laser cutting and engraving services. Each project is unique and requires different specification. We will need to see your designs and understand your project requirements before we can quote.
